TRIBFEST, REPUBLICA AND MORE TO COME

It’s been another busy few weeks for Sons of the City, with Tribfest now behind us and plenty more happening as we head towards the end of the year.

Tribfest was a brilliant experience for us. We absolutely loved the day from start to finish. It’s a really well organised festival with a great atmosphere, and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

A massive thank you to everyone involved in putting the festival together and to everyone who came along to watch us in the Unsigned Marquee. We had a great time and would love to come back again in the future.

The next bit of news is one we’re really excited about.

We’ll be supporting Republica as part of their 30th anniversary tour.

For a band like ours, these are exactly the kind of gigs we want to be doing more of. Getting the chance to share a stage with a group who have been part of British music for three decades is a great opportunity for us, and the kind of step that keeps us moving forward. Republica became one of the defining alternative bands of the 1990s, with huge songs including Ready to Go and Drop Dead Gorgeous, and have sold around three million albums worldwide.

We genuinely cannot wait for this one.

There’s plenty more happening too. We’ve got a few more gigs lined up, including shows in Derby and Huddersfield, and a end of year Christmas gig! with full details and announcements coming soon.

Away from the gigs, we’re also going to start putting a lot more into our socials.

We want people to see more of what Sons of the City is about away from the full live shows, so we’ll be recording more live stripped-down versions of our songs, along with shorter performance clips and snippets.

We’ve really enjoyed doing the acoustic and stripped-back stuff recently, so expect to see much more of that going forward. It gives us another way of showing the songs and hopefully lets people get to know the band a little better too.

There’s a lot happening at the moment and we feel like things are continuing to move in the right direction.
