NEW MUSIC, LIVE SHOWS & WHAT'S NEXT
New music, live shows and plenty happening behind the scenes. From supporting Republica to building our own studio, here's the latest from Sons of the City.
REPUBLICA & TRAMPOLINE
As ever, we have been busy with new music, live gigs and plenty happening behind the scenes. We recently had the pleasure of supporting the amazing Republica in Sheffield along with Trampoline, who have previously toured with Liam Gallagher. It was a great opportunity to share the stage with some established names and help get our name out there. We really enjoyed our set, and a big thank you to everyone involved in the night.
THESE FLOWERS OF OURS
We have also recently released "These flowers of ours" a psychedelic bonus track that explores another side of Sons of the city. Psychedelic music is a big influence on me and this track leans a little further into that side of our sound. Please give it a listen if you haven't already.
BUILDING OUR OWN STUDIO
Away from the gigs, we've been busy transforming our rehearsal space into our own recording space/studio. It's been a gradual process, getting everything together and creating a space we can rehearse, experiment and eventually record our own music. Having our own setup will give us the freedom to work on songs at our own pace, try out different ideas and capture some of the sounds we've been developing in rehearsals. We've already got several new songs taking shape and our sound is developing into something more expansive.
DERBY GIG
We're heading to Derby soon to Dubrek studios. We are going to be supporting the fantastic Sunwheel in a very intimate venue. We're really looking forward to playing a new venue, meeting new faces.
MORE TO COME
Between writing new material, putting the studio together and playing live, there's plenty keeping us occupied. We've also given our website a update, so have a look around. We will as ever be keeping it updated with the latest gigs, music and all the news from the band. With new songs in the works and plans to start recording our own material, there is plenty to look forward to as we head towards the end of the year. As always, thanks to everyone who has supported us.
See you all soon
